Robert is a 35 year old male who has lived with Depression since 16 years of age. More recently, Robert has tried to attempt suicide on two occasions as the feelings of ‘worthlessness’ and ‘no purpose’ have really weighed him down. After his second attempt, Robert was really shaken by the prospect of facing death and has made the decision to take action against Depression by living his life again! He has turned to his friends and God for support.
How did he stumble on to ‘Friends With Hope’?
One Sunday night he attended mass at Our Lady Of Lebanon Church at 7pm, after not being able to make it to the St Charbel mass where he had regularly been attending. On that night, George Boutros was launching the ‘Dollar a week’ Scheme to introduce & raise money for the Foundation and also request any assistance from the community regarding the launch of the website. Robert was really touched and felt it was a calling, as he had been searching for a way he could make a difference. He made contact with the organization and offered his assistance. He was ready and willing to share his story for the purpose of helping others so they no longer felt alone.
This is Robert’s story…..
